A HUGE thank you for everything you did to help us find the home we know is meant for us! From the moment we walked in the door, you provided your insights on the house's construction and layout, confirming our hopes it was well built and would be a solid investment if we decided to move forward. Then, once the inspection had been scheduled (for the next day thanks to you once again), you let us know what issues the house had and what would be reasonable to ask the seller to have fixed without coming across as difficult.
Your professionalism and knowledge of the market and process was impressive enough, but you went (far) above and beyond our expectations to help us negotiate through to contract signing in a matter of days on a house that could've easily slipped through our fingers had there been once slight hesitation or delay. You were on top of every move and made sure we didn't make any wrong turns. That, combined with your very impressive negotiation skills, are what enabled us to find a home in an area we love, on a street we love, and faster than we ever thought possible.
Thank you again and again.
Ted and Jackie Cella
FROM J. FREDERICK
I want to thank you for the extremely professional way that you represented my interests in the sale of my property at the Meadow Brook Club in Jericho.
We all know that the market circumstances of the last several years have been possibly the most difficult since the Depression of the 30's-notwithstanding, your advice and service were always enthusiastic, accurate and prompt. You used frequent advertising and numerous "open houses" for other brokers which included appealing buffet lunches was to encourage greater broker participation. During the many showings of the property never once were you late or unable to be present.
From the 1960's to the present, Nancy and I purchased(and sold) a number of properties in what most would consider to be upscale residential areas, such as: the North Shore of Long Island (Laurel Hollow and Meadow Brook); Manhattan (two Park Avenue Co-ops and an East Side Townhouse); Scottsdale, Arizona and Pinehurst, North Carolina. In all of these we used leading real estate brokers to represent us. I can honestly say that, among them all, you were the most professional, the most helpful and the most pleasant to deal with. I owe you great thanks for your assistance.
Very best regards,
Dear Patricia Petersen and Bonnie Devendorf:
I write this letter on behalf of Cottie Maxwell to let you know about our tremendous experience working with her on the sale of our house .........and her simultaneous effort to sell us our current home...We were also extremely impressed with Cottie'sabilities, demeanor and susequently her tremendous responsiveness.....I have a strong appreciation for Cottie's remarkable responsiveness, her ability to accurately and concisely provide information, as well as her unwavering ethical compass. Faced with a possible conflict, a person in her situation could easily have acted out of self interest, but Cottie proved herself to be exceptionally honest, straightforward and ethical. In a relatively short period of time, Cottie secured several offers on our house and we were able to negotiate reasonable terms for the purchase of our new home. And, Cottie held our hand throughout the process to make sure everything went smoothly and efficienctly. I rarely take the time to write letters of this kind but in this case it was certainly warranted. We were very fortunate to find Cottieand you are extremely lucky to have her.
The sale of my mother's home this spring was a difficult moment for my family but the tact, attention to detail, and professionalism you brought to the job were atremendous help to all. As I live in Connecticut, it could have been very difficult to manage withoutan attentive and responsible broker in charge. The house sold for a terrific price and your advice throughout the negotiating process was thoughtful and skilled. It was a pleasure and acomfort towork with someone whowas so helpful and who had many good suggestions and references fromthe beginning right through to the moving process. Thank you.....
Dear Ms Devendorf:
It is with pleasure that I express my commendation for Cottie Maxwell's hardwork and professionalism. She was our broker for the sale of our properties in Oyster Bay. My wife and I sold our investment property in April...and subsequently sold our primary residence the next May..Initially, we had retained another real estate agency and were disappointed with their performance. Fortunately, Cottie was referred to us shortly there after and at once we were very impressed by her presentation and marketing strategy including professional photography of the house. In this difficult market condition, Cottie's diligence and experience brougfht our goals to fruition. What impressed us most were her constant availability, accessiblility and dedication. I will not hesitate to recommend Cottie to my clients and friends as I am sure she will again provide outstanding service.
Selling a home is a bit like riding a roller coaster. With all the emotions, ups and downs, and the unknowns of what lies ahead..........I can attest to the fact that your professionalism, experience, and work ethics were reassuring and culminated in receiving two offers on our house. In addition to your marketing and sales expertise you always kept me informed of what was going on. Not only did you call me on a regular basis, but also you actually answered cell phone when I called you. On more that one occasion, knowing that I was home alone and that the house was empty, you stopped by with homemade cookies and even dinner on evening. Thank you for all that you have done to help make our move to the wast coast manageable.
Cottie Maxwell and Daniel Gale did a fabulous job marketing and selling my home in Mill Neck. No reasonable person could have expected more. Cottie held countless "open houses" and followed up diligently with every potential buyer. My home was presented beautifully in all your publications-I couldn't have asked for more. I would enthusiastically recommend your office and especially Cottie Maxwell to anyone looking to sell their home. Thanks for all your help!
I wanted to tell you on behalf of both my mother and I how much we appreciated your assistance and guidance with the sale........To say that I received an education int he conduct of a real estate transaction in New York would be an understatement. ......In particular, we wanted to recognize Cottie Maxwell's efforts not only in bringing the sale to closure but also in the longer-term sales effort. ........Cottie's suggested upgrades to the property were strategic and meaningful and ultimately proved very helpful when the right buyer finally appeared. The level of service and effort that she provided far exceeded anything that we would have expected of an onsite agent. Her knowledgeof the lcoal market(s) and persistence with all potential buyers gave the property the best exposure it could possibly have received and ultimately maximized the result under difficult market conditions to the seller. For a remotely located person trying to fairly represent a parent/owner, the knowledge that she was working on our behalf provided the highest level of comfort. Her time spent with the ultimate buyers of the house was critical in establishing confidence on their part that key systems were functioning correctly and that their decision to purchase the property was, infact, a correct one. Most importantly from our stand point, Cottie persisted in her selling efforts with our property when it would have been much easier and convenient for her to capitulate to a lower offer and move on to the next project. Many thanks again to both of you for your assistance and persistence and with sincere best wishes for your continued success.
Thank you ever so much for making the sale of my aunt's house such a pleasant experience.I knew at once that I was working with a true professional. I was impressed the way you presentedthe ads, along with your unique description of the house. You certainly are a credit to your profession. Many thanks for your kindness.
I would be remised if I didn't thank you in writing for the fabulous job you did in selling our home in such a professional, efficient manner. ...You literally brought dozens and dozens of potential buyers in a matter of weeks which resulted in multiple bids. Our house was sold close to asking within several weeks. I will highly recommend Daniel Gale to my friends, family and colleagues and I will especially recommend "Cottie" as the realtor agent of choice. Great job Cottie! Great job Daniel Gale! I couldn't be more thrilled. Again thank you, thank you and thank you!
FROM VINCENT AND JOAN
Cottie Maxwell is professional, courteous, hard working and responsible. Her diligence and expertise made it possible for us to sell one of our properties in a timely manner. It was a pleasure doing business with her.
FROM GERIANNE AND BRIAN
We would like to thank you for the wonderful, professional service you provided to us as we searched for that "perfect" home. You were always available for us, even when we were away, and for that we are very grateful. While you represented the seller, we felt like you were genuinely concerned about our best interests. This type of service is rare at best. Thanks to you, all aspects of our purchase went smooth and we are settling in to our new home. We have every intention of referring you, as well as Daniel Gale, to our friends and associates. Thank you very much for making our home buying experience such a pleasant one.
I am very happy to recommend Cottie Maxwell of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty. Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable and professional in all things having to do with real estate but she went way beyond the call of duty inassisting my brothers and me in the sale of a large estate in New York. Without her wise advice and good humor, we might still be mixed in the administrivia of trying to sell a house in a challenging economic environment..........We choose Cottoe because of a wonderful recommendation from a friend and because of her comprehensive presentation. We made the right choice. Throughout the time period we worked with her, she was great about staying intouch and incredibly helpful with logistical support as my brothers and I all live quite a distance from New York. I was also very pleased with the marketing of the property that she managed for us. The ads and features in magazines and papers were all tastefully done and well designed. And perhaps most importantly, Cottie was exceptionally good with prospective buyers. Her cordial manner put everyone at ease and her wealth of experience gave everyone the satisfaction that they were gettting reliable information. When we found our buyer, Cottie's assistance didn't stop there. She helped considerably with such logistical details as finding an antique rug dealer, finding a rare book salesman and even finding a church group that was willing to come to the house and take away househopld items that would have otherwise been thrown out. In fact, I don't think there is one thing she would not have done to maike the sale of the house go easier on my brothers and me. I feel that we were very fortunate in having Cottie represent us in the sale of my father's house. She had our best interest inmind throughout the process and we concluded with a very positive result for all. I would be happy to talk to anyone about Cottie's ability ....I will be a very enthusiastic supporter of her abilities!
To whom it may concern:
Cottie Maxwell has served as my broker on three separate transactions, both on the purchase and sell end. My wife an I were very happy with Cottie's level of professionalism, knowledge and commitment.
Cottie Maxwell is very hard working and always on time for all her appointments with clients and even on time to meet contractors and house staff. She was always available to lend a hand above and beyond her real estate brokerage responsibilities.
My wife and I would highly recommend Cottie to anyone seeking a good, intelligent and seasoned broker in the Nassau area.
How can Madeleine and I thank you enough? You did all you promised us and more. You presented a case for a marketable selling price, and you did all the supporting documentation to make a sale possible.
And then it all happended quickly in a difficult marketplace while getting us the price we wanted.
Then, you helped us through all the details that are required to get to the closing.
After all the stories we had heard, our sale was a dream with less stress and difficulties than we could have imagined.
Thank you ever so much for your guidance and your caring; it made all the difference to us.
A thousand thank yous for your time taking me around the Pockets of real esta from Centre Island to Glen Cove! Your insight and knowledge of this area is remarkable and I love that you know everyone! I look forward to the day where we can focus on a special home with your guidance and help. So fun spending time with you too!
With love and appreciation,
FROM AMY AND JOHN
Thank you so much for the beautiful hurricane glass candle holders with the silver detail on the outside. Such a tasteful accent to our new hoe. We love them! They are all set up with the sand you collected for us and some beach shells. It really looks great. We cannot thank you enough for all your help with finding our house and guiding us patiently through the purchasing process. Thanks to you, we feel like we have found our dream house! We look forward to the good times and memories that will be created there together with you and Dad/Tom as we make it a home. Thanks a million!

To whom it may concern:
I recently had the pleasure of working with Kathryn (Cottie) Maxwell Pournaras in the sale of my house in Locust Valley. The house went on the market May of 2013, into contract December of 2013, and closed March of 2014.
Deciding to move after living in the same house for thirty-five years is a complex process, and Cottie provided thoughtful advice and guidance throughout the entire period. In addition, the input Cottie accessed fro Daniel Gale provided valuable information to position the sale of the house in context of the market as a whole.
Cottie was very professional in her efforts to market the house with thorough advertising and numerous open houses. When a serious offer was received, Cottie shared careful and sound advice on the next steps, which resulted in a contract of sale. Never once during the entire process did I ever feel that the sale of my house wasn't foremost on her mind. Whether to a buyer or a seller, I would wholeheartedly recommend Cottie and would absolutely engage her agai, if the situation arises in the future.
TO ALL REAL ESTATE BUYERS AND SELLERS
After making the difficult decision to sell my home of 25 years, I was faced with the even more daunting prospect of a slow-to-nonexistent real estate market. We needed an extraordinary agent to help us, and we found her in Cottie Maxwell Pournaras.
Cottie is the consummate real estate professional. Her knowledge is extensive, and she is extremely conscientious, hardworking, and efficient. Immediately after accepting our listing, Cottie put in place a team that took excellent photos of the house and property, and then made an effective virtual tour for the internet. She also created a brochure with the photos and accompanied them with captions that explained and highlighted the best features of the various rooms and outdoor areas. Her marketing skills are second to none. She also kept us well informed on every aspect of the selling process. Perhaps most important of all, however, is Cottie's integrity; in the cut-throat real estate business, it was comforting to know we had someone so fair and trustworthy on our side.
On the personal level, Cottie is equally impressive. She is a joy to work with, and is invariably positive and upbeat while still remaining realistic during the ups and downs of selling a house. Her personality is charming, and if anyone can make selling a house fun, Cottie can.
Because of her expertise, talent, and work ethic, we feel most confident in recommending Cottie for all real estate transactions, and are grateful for all her work on our behalf.
